May I bring my child if they are sick?
We require a child to be picked up within one hour of notification if they have any of the following:
- A temperature over 100 degrees
- Diarrhea more than one time in single day
- Vomiting
Children should remain home until they have been on antibiotics for at least 24 hours or symptoms have cleared.

What happens when my child’s teacher is out for the day?
We make a special effort at First Steps to make sure all teachers know all the children in the Center and their needs. If your child’s teacher is out, either another teacher from a different classroom will come into cover or the director will.

Do you have a late pick up fee?
We understand that there are occasional emergencies that may cause you to be late. Please notify us if this situation arises. If you are late more than three times we will assess a late fee.

Do you accommodate certain eating restrictions?
We have many children that have a variety of nutrition needs. We make special arrangements for those children. If your child has a severe nutritional need that we cannot address, then we will discuss the best options and develop a plan together.

May I come to First Steps and have lunch with my child?
We would love it! We have parents in and out of the Center, often coming to peak in on their child, have lunch or just coming to read a story with their child’s class. Feel free to join us any time other than nap time, of course.

What will happen if my child is potty training and has a accident?
Your child will be changed into their spare clothes. Their soiled clothes will be sent home in a plastic bag. We are not able to rinse out or clean the clothes here due to OSHA regulations.

Do you watch television or videos?
No. If a special occasion arises and we need to watch a video, we would let parents know before hand. We do not own a television that the children have access to.

What days are you closed?
Our Holiday vary each year. We typiciallty have 9 holidays in whiich we are closed. Please call the school for more information.

How often do you wash the children’s bedding?
We wash bedding on a nightly basis.
